First Megaupload and now it’s Btjunkie. Yes, one of the biggest torrent search engine has been shut down. When you visit Btjunkie now then there is just a message from the founders of this popular torrent search engine-"This is the end of the line my friends. The decision does not come easy, but we've decided to voluntarily shut down," they wrote. "We've been fighting for years for your right to communicate, but it's time to move on. It's been an experience of a lifetime, we wish you all the best!"
This news also came as a shock to Internet community. Plenty of sites are facing this trouble due to illegal trading of copy righted content. The founders of Megaupload may get imprisonment for 50 years. The Megaupload case is said to have major impact on Btjunkie which was reported to U.S. Trade Representation (USTR) in November over piracy concerns.
Btjunkie has to take this decision otherwise legal action could be taken against them at any time. Btjunkie has been continuously one of the top5 torrent site since 2005 with millions of users every month. One of its founders Torrentfreak said" Witnessing all the trouble colleagues got into was cause for a lot of worry and stress, and those will now belong to the past".
There is no doubt that shutting down of websites will continue. Some will be shut-down by FBI and some will shut down voluntary like Btjunkie. After megaupload and Btjunkie, next in the list can be Rapidshare or the biggest torrent search engine-thepiratebay.
